How the internet changes how we communicate

2) Original

I think I can admit that abbreviations, for the short time, for example, for the teenagers, or young generations, when they communicate with their peers, I cannot read it. When people try to communicate with people whose generation is broad, then we should communicate with full text. When I had a glance at the first sentence of the article, I didn’t understand, what it meant. I had some text chats with my son and he taught me some abbreviations, but it is really difficult to understand and especially for formal work or places, we should not use those.

2) Paraphrase

Abbreviations can be useful but I find it very difficult to understand when people use too many of them. I believe it is important to communicate with full sentences and thoughts to avoid miscommunication. My son has tried to teach me some abbreviations but it is very confusing.

3) Vocabulary
① abbreviation – a shortened form of a word or phrase.
(ex) “USA” is an abbreviation for the United States of America.
② annoyed – slightly angry
(ex) She was annoyed by the constant noise coming from the construction site.
③ miscommunication – failure to communicate ideas or intentions successfully
(ex) The error was due to a miscommunication between the team members.
